I’m MacKenzie, the creative force behind Double M Beadwork. My brand started as a way for me to bridge the gap between my artistic expression and the cowboy lifestyle that my family led. My upbringing on some of the biggest and most influential ranches, cutting operations, and breeding facilities in Texas, influences everything that I produce. The outfits I grew up on taught me to appreciate the beauty and time invested in handmade tack, and that appreciation motivated me to pursue my own art. I draw inspiration from my time spent in the high desert, where the animals and landscapes that make it so stunningly beautiful are often called to mind when I’m looking for that creative spark.
At the age of seventeen, I found myself with a bead loom and a burning passion for jewelry making. My earliest memories of beading were sitting at the kitchen table with my mom, as we strung together her own designs. It was from this humble beginning that my love affair with jewelry truly began.
As I dedicated more time to my craft, I found myself drawn to the challenge of exploring new techniques and designs. Although my initial pieces were beadwork, I was eager to broaden my horizons and push the limits of my creativity. Slowly but surely, silversmithing became a large part of my skill set, offering a new dimension to my art.
